I have been collecting
Aurora models and their original boxes for years. I have a fairly
good collection of boxes and I want to protect them just as people
protect old comic books, magazines, trading cards and other
collectibles. I searched around and discovered that no one sells
display cases that even remotely fit the size of the classic Aurora
“Long Boxes”. So I decided to solve that problem by having some made
for this very purpose.
I am offering brand new acrylic display cases that are custom made
to the exact size for Aurora “long boxes”. They are made of heavy
duty, 1/8” plastic with 2 holes in the bottom half to allow easy
removal of the lid and to help remove a box from inside. They are
the perfect fit – not too tight and not too loose. They will
accommodate boxes that are slightly “bowed” and can actually improve
the condition of the box by keeping it correctly shaped. The
interior dimensions of the bottom half of the display case, the part
that will hold the model box, are 5&3/8” wide, 13&3/8” long & 2&1/4”
deep.
They will hold the entire Knight series except for the Gold Knight,
The Viking, The Crusader, The Gladiator, Spartacus, Athos, Porthos,
Aramis, D’Artagnan, Mandarin Chinese, Indian Squaw & Chief, Scotch
Lad & Lassie, Dutch Girl & Boy, Caballero, Senorita, Military
series, Steve Canyon, Green Beret, Jesse James, The US Marshall,
Dick Tracy & Space Coupe, The Forgotten Prisoner, Frankenstein,
Dracula, Wolf Man, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Phantom
of the Opera, The Mummy, Dr. Jekyll as Mr. Hyde, The Hunchback of
Notre Dame, Monster Customizing Kits, Wolf Man’s Wagon, Dracula’s
Dragster, Mummy’s Chariot, Frankenstein’s Flivver, The Hulk,
Superman, Captain America, Spiderman, Superboy, Wonder Woman, Robin,
Tarzan, American Astronaut, The Man From Uncle kits, The Frog, The
Vampire, Captain Kidd, Blackbeard, Captain Action, The Guillotine,
Green Hornet Black Beauty, Batmobile, Batplane, Batboat and Batcycle.
They may also fit other types of kits such as tanks, cars and
airplanes. You would need to verify the size of the box in question.
If you are a collector of the models being produce today, these
will work as well. They can hold models produced by Polar Lights,
Monarch and Moebius. They run just a bit smaller than the Aurora
boxes so there is no problem there as you can see from the Nosferatu
box in the pictures.
So, if you’ve paid a $100 or probably more for a beautiful, classic
Aurora long box model, why not protect it from damage?

We never charge a handling fee - you pay solely by weight and where
you live. Whatever UPS charges - we charge. A box of 6
boxes cost $20.00 to send to CA. Just depends on where you are
and how heavy it is.
